wow! these metaphors aren't just mixed, they're frapped!"the doors are the keys"- steel keys "with razor-sharp edges". I also like that there are multiple deserts, with corners(!), in your mind.
the best part is that i can probably find something i wrote that employs very similar imagery to equally hilarious effect.
