They got the ten commandments out of the courthouse, and all the whining whiners whined. Some of the protesters said they were going to stand in the lobby all day wearing t-shirts with the ten commandments on them. Guess what? You can do that! When an individual, as an individual, expresses their beliefs, that's protected by the First Amendment. The same one that will protect me when I stand next to you wearing my t-shirt, the one that reads "I'm with Stupid".
p.s. I saw one guy on the news pissing and moaning on the courthouse steps who was a dead ringer for Ned Flanders.
I was listening to an interview with one of the ring-leaders of the 'save the monument' gang on NPR, the interviewer (Corey F, I believe) asked "If, lets say, a Muslim group erected a monument of the Qu'ran in a courthouse, would you be fighting as hard to protect its right to be displayed on government property?"
The man answered, "And that's exactly what's gonna happen if we don't fight to keep Christian values in our courts. We'll all be Muslims. You wait and see. Look what their religion makes them do."
Corey actually snickered. He didn't even bother with a follow up question. The guy was such a moron he didn't have a clue he was actually a freaking poster-boy for the seperation of church and state.
