this Halloween my prediction was that there would be Napoleon Dynamites everywhere you looked. And I didn't see a single one.

my friend dressed up as bobby brady one halloween, and the idea was that people would ask him "what's that supposed to be?" and he would say "bobby brady" and there would be much laughter. so, highwater bellbottoms, a tight stripey polo shirt, hair extra messy, he goes to school confident in his humor.

i love that story. it's like a PARABLE of early adolescence, practically. of LIFE. and i feel sort of sorry for that napolean kid there, because i bet he didn't even have five minutes to be confident in his humor before he was squashed.
