Mr. Stone? ...the President will see you now.

Thank God for George Bush. Without him, would the dapper corporate magnate ever be able to fully embrace 'business casual'?

"On Tuesday, at a speech promoting his economic plan in Indianapolis, White House aides {asked} people in the crowd behind Mr. Bush to take off their ties, WISH-TV in Indianapolis reported, so they would look more like the ordinary folk the president said would benefit from his tax cut."

My favorite line from the article (even better out of context): "They understand that what's around the head is just as important as the head."

These guys are jackasses. Dru had a post the other day on a similar topic. To announce the new tax cut, Bush and his peeps picked a factory for the backdrop. Apparently all the workers are being forced to make up the time that Bush spoke or not get paid. See the article she was talking about here: http://tinyurl.com/bxdb

I was really taken with the generosity of Bush's team. Realizing the American people no longer have the time or inclination to wade through written or spoken words, they're communicating through images now. Or wait...that's horrifying. Deceit is even simpler with pictures. One picture is worth a thousand bogus words. For instance, a picture of Bin Laden next to a picture of Saddam Hussein speaks for itself.
Maybe a moratorium on TV and print political statements; fireside chats require finesse.
